Welcome to Pulse! We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your information when you use our Pulse application and services (collectively, “Services”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect limited information to provide and improve our Services:

  • Usage Data: We may use analytics tools, such as PostHog, to collect aggregated and anonymized data about your interaction with our Services. This includes information like usage rates of specific endpoints on your node and page load times. This data helps us understand how our Services are used, identify popular features, troubleshoot issues, and improve overall performance and user experience. This data is not personally identifiable to you as an individual user unless explicitly stated otherwise and consented to.

2. Information We DO NOT Collect (Without Explicit, Separate Consent)

We are committed to minimizing data collection. We do not collect the following information without your explicit, separate consent, which we will request personally if ever needed. Agreeing to our End User License Agreement (EULA) or Terms of Service does not constitute consent for the collection of the following:

  • Training Data: We do not use your data to train our AI models or any third-party AI models without your explicit, separate consent.
  • Complete Logs of Prompts or AI Responses:
    • Third-Party AI Providers:
      • Anthropic: Please be aware that Anthropic’s API, which Pulse may utilize, retains all logs of prompts and responses for 30 days as per their policy. This retention is governed by Anthropic’s privacy policy and is outside of Pulse’s direct control. We encourage you to review Anthropic’s policies.
      • Other AI APIs: For all other AI service providers integrated with Pulse, we have configured them, where possible, not to store logs of your prompts or responses, and not to use your data for training their models.
    • Pulse Logs for Troubleshooting: Pulse may retain partial logs (e.g., metadata about API calls, error messages, timestamps, but not the full content of your prompts or AI responses unless absolutely necessary for a specific issue) for a maximum of 30 days. These partial logs are reviewed only with your explicit consent and solely for the purpose of troubleshooting technical issues (for example, to investigate if an AI was calling an endpoint with a misspelled name or if an error occurred during processing).

3. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Maintain Our Services: Ensuring our Services function correctly and efficiently.
  • To Improve Our Services: Understanding usage patterns to enhance features, performance, and user experience.
  • To Troubleshoot Issues: Diagnosing and resolving technical problems, with your consent when reviewing specific log data.
  • To Comply with Legal Obligations: As described in Section 6.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information under the following limited circumstances:

  • Third-Party Service Providers: We may use third-party companies and individuals (like PostHog for analytics, and AI API providers like Anthropic) to facilitate our Services, provide Services on our behalf, or assist us in analyzing how our Services are used. These third parties have access to your information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency), as further detailed in Section 6.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no internet-based service is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Prohibited Uses and Compliance with Law

Your use of Pulse must comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations.

You are solely liable for any illegal activities conducted using Pulse.

If we become aware of or have a good faith belief that you are using Pulse for any illegal purpose or in violation of our terms, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your access to our Services without notice.

Furthermore, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities in any investigation of alleged illegal activity conducted through or with the assistance of Pulse. This cooperation may include providing them with data as required by law or subpoena. Our commitment to user privacy should not be misconstrued as a shield for illicit activities. Do not exploit our desire to protect user data as an opportunity to engage in unlawful conduct.

7. Data Retention

  • Usage Data (e.g., via PostHog): Retained as per PostHog’s policies or for as long as necessary for analytical and service improvement purposes.
  • Anthropic API Logs: Retained by Anthropic for 30 days, as per their policy.
  • Pulse Troubleshooting Logs (Partial): Retained for a maximum of 30 days, if collected with your consent.

We will delete or anonymize your information when it is no longer needed for the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law.

8. Your Data Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you (subject to our retention policies and legal obligations). Please contact us if you wish to exercise these rights.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or a higher age threshold depending on the jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
