Your social profile on overmind

Protip: Overmind uses embeddings of your digests to match you with other users/make you searchable to other users, it's best to have at least 10-15 digests representing your interests stored in your Node before registering.

Overmind is an opt-in social networking layer for Pulse nodes. You have full control over what level of interaction you have with Overmind. For example:

  • Discoverability in Search
  • Automatic Match Making
  • Local vs Global preference for matches
  • New topic/content suggestions

Overmind is currently experimental so there may be odd/funny matches, suggestions, or occasional lag time in updating information the backend has about you. These will (of course) improve dramatically as we acquire more users and more feedback. For now we focus on matching either "left field" (not many related digests) or "potentially friendly" (many related digest) users automatically. Once you have completed registration these are the features that become available:

  • People search with location bias
  • Creation of "pickup groups" (small pods up to 10 users) from search results/node hotlist that are sent to participants as a highlight:

Clicking "review and join pod" gives you a quick setup point for tags you want to share with the group - remember tags are prefixes in pods so any tag that starts with what you enter will be shared:

If you get bored or are awaiting for your pod to start you can explore/utilize the Knowledge Galaxy at the bottom of the page to see your digests, the digests of other users, and example topics visualized as a 3d form:

As you come back and Overmind learns more about you you will get new recommended research topics. Enter a URL from another node at the top of the page to generate a visual comparison. Clicking on your recommended topics opens and pre-fills the explore tool so that you don't have to research them yourself.
